2005 was a golden harvest in the stable of Misters of Puerto Rico. Aside from Francis Gonzales who was regarded as one of the most of the handsome faces to land in Latin firmament, Omar come as close second in terms of popularity, fan adulation, and confidence ( my goodness these are really born winners. Omar is 23 years old and has the Industrial Psychology title following his name.The first international pageant Omar joined was Mr. Continentes del Mundo (Mr. World Continents) which was held in Lima Peru. His eyes were focused on the crown, because he want to make Puerto Rico proud of him, but he fell a tad short from getting the elusive crown.He ended up as fourth runner up which is to me is already a major achievement.Omar Martinez went to Guatemala ion Decemeber and again tried his luck with Mr. Expo World 2005. He won and all he can say was ... "this is the best christmas gift i have received. " Omar won the first ever Mr. Expo World Title and on the side was the the other icing on the cake - He also won the "traje tipico " (Best In National Costume?) and Mejor Cuerpo which is equivalent to Best Physique. Three major awards in one show ... that was BIG Omar! The other runners-up were Victor Jimenez of Costa Rica (1st) and Jose Figuroa of Guatemala(2nd).
