Year End Review 2018

It's New Year's Day 2019 and looking at the Philippines' performance in different beauty fronts and venues around the world, Philippines made a BIG COMEBACK by virtue of the win of Catriona Gray in Miss Universe. When detractors and bashers were having a field day demoting Philippines to having a so-so year (when representatives in Miss Grand International and Miss World failed to make it to the top), Catriona's victory rewrote history and catapulted Philippines to a meteoric rise ... again ... on top of the leaderboard. 

Not contended of being the Country of the Year in 2015 and 2017 (The Pageant Crown Ranking), Philippines continued its winning streak in 2016 and 2017 and in 2018  the pattern has never changed. More titles, runner up spots, Top 15 finishes were added in the Philippines column. And comparing it with the beauty output of other countries, Philippines still has a better batting average.

And today GB, despite having ambivalent feelings (love you -hate you) towards Philippines made a fearless disclosure that indeed Philippines is back on top dwarfing the record of Venezuela by 20 points and Puerto Rico ... a far third.  The writer might be having  a bad heartburn mincing words that Philippines and Powerhouse are synonymous. The RECORD NEVER LIE!
