Santiago Salaberry: Uruguay Is Proud of You!

Uruguay is one South American country that does not have a string of luck in beauty pageants in the women's division. But in the men's side, one wonder how many Adonises in Uruguay are just waiting for their time to be tapped and eventually make Uruguauy proud once more. Ignacio Kliche started the bandwagon when he won one of the Mr. World title in 2000 . A sports icon, now a Tv and a movie personality Ignacio clicked and Uruguay was in the top of the world. Another hunk-y dory from Uruguay was Santiago Salaberry, and everybody was betting their bottom dollar for him when he mesmerized everyone in Mr. Intercontinental 1999 tournament in Germany. A twist of fate though ... and he was the first runner up.. A little disappointed but whatever the results maybe, Santiago was able to touch so many lives , the pageants fans rooting for him and most especially Uruguay who is now regarded a little giant in male beauty contest totem pole! congratulations!
By the way, the complete winning circle include Patrick Urban - Mr. Germany (mr. Intercontinental 1999 who also joined Manhunt International 1999 but lost to Ernesto Calzadilla of Venezuela), Santiago Salaberry-Uruguay- First runnerup, Marcelino Roos-Aruba- second runner-up, Marian Karpanovic- Bulgaria- third runner-up, and Daniel Boudal-Sweden- fourth runner-up.
