Models and Male Beauty Pageants Alumni are joining the showbiz merry-go-round and models in the ramp and beauty kings are taking showbiz by storm. ABS CBN started it allwhen the Bodyshots hottie Zanjoe, Uma and Rico Barrera and Kris Martinez of Close Up to Fame also a Maharlikang Pilipino graduate were commissioned to joinPinoy Big Brother and other teleserye projects. This was reinforced when commercial models Christian Vasquez, Derek Ramsey, Paolo Paraiso, Victor Basa, AJ Dee (who is a Bodyshot ist RU himself), and Manhunt Bruce Quebral are lending their manly presence felt fanning the embers of competetion with GMA , the other starbuilder. . GMA to its credit assembled a singing group headlined by Take 5 whose members include alumni from different beauty pageants namely Carlos Concepcion , Douglas Robinson, and Joseph (all from Mossimo Bikini OPen Summit), and Rey Talosig from Century Tuna Superbods. Two Sundays ago another batch of male models were presented at SOP and this bunch are of pageant beef steaks again namely Einar Ingebrigsten (Mossimo Bikini Open 2005 winner) and models like Rye Farinas ( son of a governor from the north and Former beauty queen and moviestar Maria Theresa Carlson, Joseph Marco ( a Jollibee and Head and Shoulders shampoo starbrighter, Lawrennce Gutierrez ( a finalist at Be Bench), Gino de la Rosa (a model and tv host) and a model import from USA, Victor Aliwalas who has the most maaliwalas na mukha, no pun intended. ABSCBN answered last Sunday at ASAP, the inclusion of Be Bench winners Carlo Guevarra, Ron Morales, John James Uy, Marvin Wijangco and John Avila aka John Muhlally of Century Tuna Superbods as Kapamilya converts Well ... the more ... the merrier..

Would you believe he has joined Face of Basilica and Mr. Bikini Intercontinental to name some pageant he has joined. His name was synonymous to Mossimo Bikini Open in 2005 won by Einar Ingebrigstein who like himself is now an actor-wannabe at ABS CBN stable. Coming froma prominent and a rich family, one wonders what a sterile-looking, convent-bred Carlos is doing in the murky waters of showbusiness. Somebody rationalizes it is not the corporate business that he is eyeing for. Being an SOP regular and his being vocal about dreaming a television hosting job someday, it is safe to say the line of work he wants is "entertainment". One surmise, business can wait, and while he is at it, he might just have to enjoy what every moment gives, cherish the journey with such cllean fun
