Pinoy Titleholder: Roldunne Mendoza

Rholdunne Mendoza is a very popular ramp and commercial model in the Philippines. He was chosen to represent Philippines in Manhunt International 2007. He won Best Runway model. He came back to Philippines and got a lot of TV commercials and product endorsements including Bench. He is also a regular fixture in Philippine Fashion Week.

All is quite in Roldunne Mendoza's front. After representing the Philippines In Manhunt International 2007 in Korea, and after winning some minor awards in the pageant, we thought all the while this 25 year old, 185 cm and 76 kg. hottie is showbizlandia bound like the rest of the models who has been lured to try the glitter and the glitz of the movies.

Roldunne preferred to stay in the sideline. Maybe it is not his cup of tea ... and just like Brent Javier- Manhunt International 2006 ... they dilly-dallied their way to stardoom and concentrate more in the ramps and runways. Both are regular fixture in Bench Fashion shows, and Philippine Fashion Week , it is as though these events are not possible without their bodies sashaying in the stage.

My friend suddenly shook me from my back as I was typing this feature and he sssshhhed me ...and he swore Don Mendoza has joined the movies via an indie film route. I thought all the while this is a hunk's encyclopedia ... and that I should know everything. And as I Googled and type the name Don Mendoza ... I was a little embarrassed to realize I didn't know he starred in one indie film D' Survivors along with two Nippo-Brazilian hopia Daniel Matsunaga and Fabio Ide. Adding salt to the wound Brent Javier also starred in another indie film Male Confessions with Derek Ramsay and Borgy Manotoc. Well Don and Brent ... tao lang po!

Roldunne Mendoza: Has Proven His Critics Wrong

It was not a smooth sailing for Roldunne. Some raised their eyebrows, others dismissed the idea by just a shrug of their shoulder. If you read pageant forums, almost 70 % stated Roldunne is just too thin for comfort ... let alone compete in an international arena.
Whoever did put a "imprimatur" stamp on Roldunne's selection is beyond everyone's imagination. When Roldunne went to China, to everybody's surprise he did a decent dent in the contest, not a big one ... but at least he made a good impression. He was chosen as one of the Best Ramp models and he has proven his critics wrong. He is back in PI after the contest. He did some modelling here and there and some Tv guestings. As they say, nobody can put a good man down!
